- General Duty (GD): Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Class 12 (10+2+3 scheme).
- Technical (Engineering/Electrical/Electronics): Engineering degree in relevant fields such as Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Aeronautical, etc.
- Age Limit: 21–25 years (as of 01 July 2025)

Stage-I: Coast Guard Common Admission Test (CGCAT)
- Online exam with 100 multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Subjects:
- English (25 questions)
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability (25 questions)
- General Science & Mathematical Aptitude (25 questions)
- General Knowledge (25 questions)
Stage-II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)
- Includes a Computerized Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and a Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
- Conducted at designated centers (e.g., Noida, Chennai, Mumbai).
Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
- Conducted over five days at the Coast Guard Selection Board, Noida.
- Includes psychological tests, group tasks, interviews, and document verification.
Stage-IV: Medical Examination
- Special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
- Appeal and review options available for candidates declared unfit.
Stage-V: Induction
- Successful candidates will be included in the merit list and must report to the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, for training.
