About the Role: Are you passionate about data and eager to build your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Liven is looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our team. You’ll work alongside our Senior Data Engineer, contributing to impactful projects and gaining hands-on experience with advanced tools and technologies, including Databricks and AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines under the mentorship of the Senior Data Engineer.
- Help automate data workflows and integrate multiple data sources to streamline data processes.
- Support the management and optimization of our AWS infrastructure (S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift), ensuring secure and efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Assist in managing Databricks clusters, optimizing Spark job performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth and reliable data processing.
- Contribute to implementing data governance practices, ensuring high standards of data integrity, quality, and security across all platforms.
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other team members to provide clean, reliable data for machine learning models, analytics, and business reporting.
- Help maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, architecture, and governance processes, supporting team understanding and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with Databricks and AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Redshift), and experience with data tools like Spark.
- Basic programming skills in Python or Scala, and a working knowledge of SQL.
- Foundational understanding of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in data processing environments.
- A proactive approach to learning new technologies and tools, particularly in big data, cloud infrastructure, and data governance.
Good to Have:
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau to support data visualization and reporting.
- Experience working with data from POS systems or within the F&B or hospitality industries.
- Basic understanding of version control systems like Git for managing code and collaboration.
- Introductory-level certifications in AWS or Databricks, demonstrating foundational cloud skills.
