Job Description:

As a Unix, SQL Script Developer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our database systems and applications. Leveraging your expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and SQL, you will develop, optimize, and maintain scripts to automate tasks, retrieve and manipulate data, and support data management processes. Collaboration with the development team, database administrators, and other stakeholders will be essential to meet business objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unix Script Development: Develop, implement, and maintain Unix scripts to automate system tasks and processes, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • SQL Script Development: Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the development team to understand data requirements and develop scripts that align with application needs.
  • Performance Optimization: Work with database administrators to identify and resolve performance issues in SQL scripts, ensuring optimal database performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and debug Unix and SQL scripts to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation.
  • System Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Ensure data integrity and security by adhering to best practices for Unix and SQL scripting.
  • Documentation: Document Unix and SQL scripts for future reference and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and developments in Unix and SQL scripting to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed, sharing expertise and best practices.


  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and proficiency in shell scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Korn).
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.
  • Familiarity with database management systems, data warehousing concepts, and database design principles.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Perl is advantageous.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.
  • Certification in Unix or SQL scripting is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
